Designed for existing HGV drivers who are no longer driving professionally, our 'Back to Wheels' Refresher with Upgrade to C+E course is tailored to drivers who are looking to get back into professional driving, while expanding their skills and career opportunities.

With expert instructors and state-of-the-art facilities, we provide practical and theory-based training that's tailored to your individual needs. The timeline below provides an indication of what you can expect during this 10-week driver training course, however, it's important to note that the timeline may differ on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility for this course

To be eligible for this course, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Aged 19 or over

  • Eligible to work in the UK

  • Lived in UK for 3 years

  • Hold a Category C licence for at least 12 months

Programme Overview

What's included:
Communication Skills and Time Management modules
Mental Health and Customer Service modules
English, Maths and Digital Studies modules
Equality & Diversity modules, including Safeguarding and Prevent
A choice of six of the following Driver Knowledge camps:
  • Fire Awareness
  • First Aid Awareness
  • Driver's Hours
  • Highway Code
  • Load Security for Transport
  • Realities of Driving
  • Vehicle Safety
  • Winter Driving
Practical driver training: Cat C (Refresher - 1 day) and Cat C+E training (5 days)
Practical driver test
Interview preparation and CV writing (for individuals only)
Interview with employer (for individuals only)
