This Forklift Instructor course is designed to train new instructors who wish to teach candidates how to safely operate lift trucks and satisfy training recommendations as per the HSE Approved Code of Practice.

Course Prerequisites

  • Documentary evidence of having completed a Counterbalance course of Basic Operating Skills within 36 months of the course start date. The operator course must have been conducted by a currently registered AITT, ITSSAR, LANTRA, NPORS or RTITB Instructor.
  • Passed an advanced operational competence test within 3 months of the instructor course start date
  • Successfully completed and passed the full e-truck e-learning course within 3 years of the instructors course start date. 80% Pass mark required.
  • Proof of successful completion of the full E-Truck eLearning course within 36 months of the course start date.

Additional Information

  • Please bring a form of photographic I.D., Operator Certificate that has been refreshed within the last 36months.
  • Please note that Mobile phones must be switched off during training.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing and safety footwear is advised.
  • Please note there is an additional £91.50 cost charged at checkout. This covers RTITB Advanced Operational Competence certification and E Learning.

Course Certification

On completion of this course successful candidates will receive confirmation via RTITB of course results, and a GTG certificate of attendance.

Successful candidates will also have the option to register with RTITB to enter their name on the RTITB International Register of Professional Instructors, reflecting the instructor's ability to carry out training and testing as required by the code of practice. Registration will cost an additional £75 plus payable directly to RTITB. Please see following link for more details of the RTITB International Register
