Course Summary
With today’s busy road environment and more LGV DVSA roadside inspections being carried out than ever before, it is crucial that your fleet is running with no defects. You can only ensure this, though, if the maintenance staff inspect your fleet to the required standards set by DVSA. This course will equip your staff with the knowledge and skills to complete these inspections to the required standards.
This is an assessment where technicians must pass a practical assessment and two Under Pinning knowledge (theory) tests.
First the technician must pass the Under Pinning knowledge tests, which will consist of 50 questions, this will be split up of 35 questions that will be of technical content and 15 questions that will be of legislative content. Time to complete this test is 1 hour.
Once the technician has passed the Under Pinning knowledge test, they then have 12 months in which to successfully complete the Practical Assessment.

The Practical Assessment takes between 1.5 – 2 hours to complete.
Course Prerequisites
Three years’ industrial experience or a Level 3 S/NVQ (or equivalent qualification) plus at least one year’s experience in a relevant industrial environment.

Who Should Attend?
This assessment is aimed at technicians who have at least three years’ industrial experience or a Level 3 S/NVQ (or equivalent qualification) plus at least one year’s experience in a relevant industrial environment.Course Certification
IRTEC Certificated - IRTEC Certification fee of £122 will be added at checkout.
Technicians who successfully pass IRTEC assessments are awarded an IRTEC licence. This certifies the individual rather than the employer and is based on current competence. Licenses expire after five years.
