Course Summary
IMI Accreditation is a practical, non-academic way to demonstrate individual capability, providing independent proof of current competence, knowledge and skills. The IMI's Senior Panel Technician accreditation is designed for technicians whose job involves the repair of vehicles typically involved in accidents or similar incidents.
Candidates will have to successfully demonstrate practical competency and underpinning knowledge in order to achieve accreditation.
Candidates must complete modules in:
- Cosmetic Panel Alignment
- MET - Complex
- Panel Damage (Rectification)
- Welded Panel/Section MAG/MIG Braze/Bond/Rivet
- Rectify Bodyshell Misalignment
- Aluminium Cosmetic Panel
- Cold Filler Repair
Course Prerequisites
Technicians should be working in the accident repair sector of the industry and have at least 3 years experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to repair & replace body components, including returning vehicle alignment to manufacturer specification and rectifying bodyshell faults.
Candidates MUST present a current Assessed Outcome Module Certificate for AOM009 to the centre when registering for Senior Panel Full Assessment or Re-Accreditation.
