Course Summary
Familiarisation
The familiarisation day is an optional preparation day which we recommend to give paint technicians the chance to familiarise themselves with GTG training techniques and also prepare technicians with awareness of the skills and knowledge required before the IMI assessment day.
Assessment
IMI Accreditation is a practical, non-academic way to demonstrate individual capability, providing independent proof of current competence, knowledge and skills.
Candidates will have to successfully complete a range of practical and knowledge based assessments in order to verify their ability to Senior Paint Level.
Modules covered
Application of a wet on wet primer
Spot/Rapid repair on Clear over Base Finish
Application of 3 stage Pearlescent Finish

Key Benefits
This training will demonstrate that you are able to identity the new panel substrate to be painted and have the ability to assess and understand which products should be used. You will also have the competence when preparing new panel surfaces to a professional standard and also ensure they are contamination free prior to applying foundation materials. Who Should Attend?
Paint technicians currently working in a body shop with at least 3 years experience and who's role involves the repair of vehicles typically involved in accidents. This will ensure they are familiar with the knowledge and techniques required before attending the IMI Senior Paint Technician.
