Course Summary

Pre – assessment Training – 2 days

The pre-assessment training is designed to familiarize technicians with all aspects of the assessment this will include use of measurement equipment, multi meters and wiring diagrams and will increase the probability of a first-time pass, this training is recommended if sitting this assessment for the first time.
Light Vehicle Master Technician assessment – 1 day
The assessment is designed for technicians whose job role involves the complex diagnostic repair of light vehicles. Technicians will successfully complete the following assessed outcome modules:
  • Electrical Systems – Complex
  • Electrical systems – Diagnosis/Scan tool diagnosis
  • Computer Based Test Equipment – complex
IMI Accreditation is achieved through full assessment, which involves the completion of all practical and knowledge bases and assessments at each level.

Course Prerequisites

The technician should be working in the light vehicle sector of the industry and ideally have at least five years’ experience in electrical diagnostics, fault finding and component replacement.

Who Should Attend?

Technicians who have been working in the light vehicle sector of the industry and ideally have at least five years’ experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to diagnose system faults, rectify the faults including replacing components, liaise with customers at all levels and be able to transfer their technical knowledge to others such as apprentices and technicians.
