Course Prerequisites
CONTENT The sessions are as follows:
Part 1 Understanding coaching Part 1 looks at the differences between coaching, mentoring and training, and the responsibilities of being a coach.
Part 2 Identifying a coaching need Part 2 looks at ways to identify a coaching need and introduces the GROW coaching model.
Part 3 How we learn Part 3 looks at the 4 stages of competence and the VARK learning styles model to see how we adapt our coaching to best suit the individual. Part 4 Delivering a coaching session
Part 4 looks at how to deliver a coaching session that meets the identified need, including delivery techniques, questioning techniques, resources and assessment. Part 5 Developing a coaching plan
Part 5 focuses on how to write outcomes for a coaching plan, and how to put together a dynamic coaching session that meets all identified outcomes.
Part 6 Micro-coaching
Part 6 is an opportunity for the candidates to put their skills into practice and
deliver a short (20 minutes) coaching session to the rest of the group.
