The Diploma at SCQF level 6 is a broad-based qualification allowing some scope for specialisation in structured data processing, web or multimedia applications or helpdesk application support. It covers areas such as developing personal and team effectiveness using IT; health and safety in IT and telecoms; understanding the potential of IT; digital information management; digital communications; digital network environments; and optimising IT system performance.

This apprenticeship is designed to give candidates a full understanding of common digital applications used in the workplace today. The qualified Modern Apprentice will be able to troubleshoot and solve problems using a range of different application software packages as appropriate to the business context in which they are working. As with all apprenticeships it gives the candidate the opportunity to earn while they learn. You will gain valuable IT skills while demonstrating competence in your own workplace.
The MA in Digital Applications is a broad-based apprenticeship allowing some scope for specialisation in structured data processing or multimedia applications. The diploma makes up the largest part of the qualification totaling 60 credits while the application software and industry specific units make up the remaining 28 credits. The Digital Applications Modern Apprentice also needs good knowledge and practical skills in the industry context in which they are operating. For this reason, over 10% of the qualification comprises sector specific units from the relevant industry sector.
The DAS apprenticeship is assessed using a hybrid of workplace and classroom assessments that allow the candidates to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to meet the standards. As all assessments are on our e-portfolio system which allows candidates to be more proactive in the assessment process.
