GTG Training has been recognised as Training Provider of the Year at the prestigious 2019 Talent in Logistics Awards. The glittering event, held at the Milton Keynes’s Marshall Arena in June, hosted an impressive roster of guest speakers, including inspirational former Olympian Steve Backley, OBE.
Now in its third year, the awards ceremony celebrates the best-in-class businesses from across the logistics sector. The initiative places particular emphasis on recruiting from groups that are currently under-represented in the logistics industry.
GTG Training shone in the Training Provider of the Year category, for its commitment to investing in the workforce of the future, for its approach to training and its commitment to fully investing in skills and people.
Transport Manager Pamela Brown was there on the night to collect the award. She said, ‘We’ve been working hard to be up to the task of supporting our thousands of logistics learners every year to realise their potential. Being recognised for this particular award is hugely motivational for us – we’re inspired to keep learning, improving and working to be the best we can. It’s fantastic recognition, and as a team, we’re very proud.
For over 30 years, the GTG Transport department has been delivering training to all sectors of the transport and logistics industry. In 2018 alone, we trained and certificated over 21,000 people in logistics courses, with 482 apprentices completing apprenticeships in Driving Goods Vehicles, Logistics Operations and Warehousing & Storage. GTG has also helped 272 unemployed people back into working in logistics through government-funded Employability Programmes and the Black Country Impact Project.
