GTG Training will now be delivering construction courses from its state-of-the-art training centre in Glasgow.

The new courses will cover a wide range of skills and disciplines – including Lifting Operations, Plant Operator, Site Safety Plus, Working at Height, Vocational Qualifications and Construction Health and Safety.

They are aimed at those who are looking to gain employment in the construction industry, or those who want to upskill or refresh their current training. Whether it’s working with heavy machinery, working at height or even refreshing health and safety knowledge, there’s a wide range of construction courses to choose from.

The team at our Glasgow training centre recently delivered the first NPORS Appointed Person course – a five-day course that teaches delegates to safely and effectively plan lifts, as well as the legislation and regulatory requirements for being an 'appointed person' for planning lifts. This course is now available to book on our website.

As well as working with our experienced team of instructors and our state-of-the-art facilities, delegates can be safe in the knowledge that they are getting the best learning experience, as GTG Training has been accredited by CPCS and NPORS, two leading awarding bodies in the construction industry.

What are the benefits of construction training?

For delegates:

  • Career progression opportunities – our courses are ideal for those who want to kick-start a new career in the construction industry or enhance their current skillset, whether they want to improve their skills with certain machinery or take a step into management.

  • Work safely and efficiently – with the right training and knowledge, employees can work safely and more efficiently, reducing the risk of injury when working with machinery or at height.

  • Keep knowledge up to date – by refreshing their knowledge, workers can keep up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the industry and be fully aware of how to complete their work efficiently.

For employers:

  • Improved performance – a well-trained workforce will complete their work to a higher standard. This will result in fewer errors, more efficient project management and increased productivity.

  • Safer workplace – by training all employees to a high standard, businesses can create a safer workplace. There are many tools, machines and vehicles that can pose a hazard in the workplace, so it’s important that employees know exactly how to use them and how to keep them, their colleagues and the wider public safe.

  • Increased employee satisfaction – investing in employee development is a sign of career progression and job security. This will lead to greater employee satisfaction which, in turn, will allow the employer to attract and retain their best talent.
