The SVQ in Controlling Lifting Operations: Planning Lifts at SCQF Level 9 (SVQ Level 4) allows candidates to demonstrate their competence in planning lifts to take place in the construction environment.

This qualification covers areas such as: Develop and maintain good working relationships; Plan lifting activities; Plan and establish safety, health, welfare and environmental systems for lifting operations; Plan work activities and resources to meet project requirements; Evaluate and confirm work methods; Plan the preparation of the site for the project; and Identify, allocate and plan the deployment and use of plant, equipment or machinery.
This
qualification is aimed at individuals from a technical and engineering
background or at those individuals with an extensive background of
crane/lifting operations and covering and enables candidates to progress from
their initial trained operator Appointed Person card (red card) through to
competent operator Appointed Person card (blue card)
