Course Summary
The IPAF operator course instructs a candidate to prepare and safely operate MEWPs, also referred to as cherry pickers, aerial lifts or scissor lifts. Categories covered by this course are Mobile Vertical (3a), Mobile Boom (3b).
IPAF’s MEWP Operator Training is certified by Bureau Veritas as conforming to the international standard ISO 18878 Mobile elevating work platforms – Operator (driver) training.
The duration of courses for training on machine categories 3a and 3b varies from half a day to two-days, dependent on the candidate's experience, theory type chosen (eLearning or classroom), and the number of machine categories the candidate is already qualified for. A PAL Card and certificate are issued to the candidate on successful completion of the course and assessment. The PAL Card is valid for five years (depending on previous training dates on the PAL Card).

Course Prerequisites
Candidate will be required to confirm they meet the health & fitness requirements.

Who Should Attend?
Anyone who wishes to operate powered access equipment and obtain an IPAF MEWP Certificate.
Course Certification
On completion of IPAF MEWP, MCWP courses, if passed, will qualify you for a Powered Access Licence (PAL Card), which is globally recognised and proof that you have been trained to the highest standard. Your PAL Card lasts for five years (dependent on your country/regions regulations).
All PAL Cards are issued digitally and accessed via ePAL, IPAF’s free mobile phone app. (Printed PAL Cards are available if required.)
