Course Summary
The First Aid at Work course is designed to help employers meet legal requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and is formally certificated by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). This training course will provide key health and safety skills in effectively dealing with persons injured, or having suffered sudden illness prior to medical aid being obtained. Delegates are required to take a refresher course every three years.
- FAIB approved training course
- Provides the skill and knowledge required for first aid and the techniques to apply them
- Teaches principles and practice of first aid and the roles and responsibilities of a first aider
- Incident and casualty management including top-toe survey
- Care and monitoring of the unconscious casualty i.e. recovery position and Glasgow Coma Scale
- Competent use of an Automated External Defibrillator
Course Prerequisites
No previous experience is required.
Additional Information
There is a practical element to this course – appropriate clothing required i.e. trousers and flat footwear recommended.
