Course Summary

This course is designed to ensure selected personnel are trained to effectively carry out the duties of a Fire Warden, therefore employers benefit from a well trained workforce assisting them in reducing the risk of injury from fire.
In the event of a fire the Fire Warden responds calmly, quickly and effectively to ensure the safe and full evacuation of all persons within the premises.


Course Prerequisites

There are no entry criteria for this course however delegates should be prepared to carry out their role in a potentially stressful situation.

Please note that this course has a practical outdoor element and we strongly advise that all delegates dress accordingly.

To become a qualified Fire Warden, you must complete Fire Warden training through an accredited training provider that will ensure your training is compliant with UK legislation. 

Fire Warden training is valid for three years, however, we recommend keeping up to date with changes in legislation and best practice in the meantime.

Our Fire Warden training courses are usually £135.

The main role of a Fire Warden is to supervise evacuations of a building during a fire. In the case of a fire, you’ll be responsible for sweeping your designated area and head-counting staff at the evacuation point. 

On a day-to-day basis, it’s important for Fire Wardens to keep an eye on fire exits and fire extinguishers to make sure access is not blocked in case a fire does occur. 

As a Fire Warden, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and training to manage procedures in the event of a fire within the workplace, ensuring everyone within the building exits safely. You’ll also be better equipped to identify fire hazards early, decreasing the risk of a fire in your workplace.
