Course Summary

This course provides an overview of the principle of the Euro VI Emission Control systems and the process, identification and functionality of the individual system components, fault status indication and the failure strategies related to modern heavy vehicle applications. The course provides the following

Operation of various emission systems including Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Diesel Oxidisation Catalyst (DOC), Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) and Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR)

Generic overview of diagnostic processes on various systems covering crystallisation, regeneration, blocked filters, and sensor operation

Basic diagnostic equipment uses

Overview of service procedure and dosing test and preparation for regeneration.

Procedures for accurately testing NOx sensors, heat sensors, pressure sensors and communication line

Test Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)
