The brief
In 2024, MG, a car manufacturer that’s part of the Stellantis Group, came to GTG in search of an automotive workshop that could be used as a training base for their technicians in Scotland. Their brief outlined four key venue requirements that their chosen workshop had to meet: location, facilities, work environment and capacity.
Firstly, MG wanted a location in or around Glasgow with good transport links that would accommodate technical training for MG employees across Scotland. Situated on South Street in Glasgow, GTG met these accessibility needs.
The MG team were also looking for an adaptable site that offered modern, well-equipped workshops, classrooms for theory-based learning and break-out areas for informal discussions and catering. Plus, with growing demand for EV and hybrid vehicle servicing, they required a facility outside their usual dealership or service locations that could accommodate this kind of technical training for their employees across Scotland. The environment also had to be professional, consistent, clean, brand-appropriate and capable of being customised with MG branding when required.
As for capacity, MG required an area that was big enough to host groups of technicians at a time, with enough space for both practical and classroom training to run concurrently.
The solution
To ensure MG were able to provide their technicians with a smooth and high-quality training experience, we offered them a comprehensive venue solution as part of a long-term venue hire agreement. This agreement met and exceeded their brief in the following ways.

The outcome
Having been training in the space for over a year, MG are now settled in at GTG Training. With training delivered by their own MG trainers, they currently run regular training sessions with six to eight delegates each week. This training has primarily focussed on EV/hybrid servicing and diagnostics to align with the brand’s push towards electrification. The combination of MG’s professional knowledge and experience, and GTG Training’s state-of-the-art resources and equipment has helped to create a truly impactful learning environment.
So far, feedback has been very positive with MG trainers and technicians noting the quality of the facilities, ease of access, and the overall delegate experience as key benefits. Based on this early success and continued training demand, there are indications that MG may look to expand or extend their use of the venue in future.
