Course Summary

This conversion course is for candidates who hold a current operator certificate for counterbalance lift trucks and wish to gain an accredited certificate for reach trucks.

The course includes:

  • Introduction to reach truck and pre-use checks.
  • Manoeuvring laden/unladen lift truck in open and confined spaces.
  • Use of industrial racking and cages.
  • Stacking exercises at high, eye and low level.
  • Principles of stability.
  • Multiple Choice associated knowledge theory test.
  • Pre-use checks test.
  • Operational ability test.


Course Prerequisites

  • Candidates must have an email address.
  • Candidates must be of school leaving age.
  • Candidates should be suitably fit and free from disabilities that might pose a threat to their own health and safety or the health and safety of others who might be affected by them operating lift trucks.
  • Candidates must have a valid certificate of another machine type.

Additional Information

PPE requirements: Safety footwear is advised and full length trousers.
